As suspected, they chose the award favored Daniel Day- Lewis over Viggo, and "Atonement' over "Eastern Promises". How disappointing.
No matter. There is always Oscar to hope for, although like Gandalf said "There never was much hope, just a fool's hope".
As Viggo had quoted Churchill on awards (medals) "Never seek them. Always accept them. Never wear them".
On a footnote; I am glad that Johnny Depp finally won.
